Drag Queen Tea: Exclusive Interview with Scarlet Envy

To say that Scarlet Envy has had a year is an understatement. Not only did she appear on her third iteration of Drag Race for UK vs the World, but she also released her first book of poetry (She’s A Poet), she debuted her new cabaret (Bad Advice), she opened for Katy Perry singing songs from her new EP Rain In Hollywood, and she’s currently touring in Witch Perfect with Drag Race alum Tina Burner and Alexis Michelle. She made her mark and became a fan favorite on the 11th season of Drag Race and on the 6th season of All Stars. Her trademark quote, “Am I the drama?” has become part of drag herstory. She continues to prove over and over again that she is a star, with or without Drag Race. We caught up with her on the road for a fun, rapid-fire chat exclusively for Andrew Christian.

I love hearing fan stories and reasons for connecting. Meeting fans face to face is a good reminder of how important visibility and community is! 

 

 

I’ve been writing for a long time! It was time to share some of this stuff with my fans. Simply another way of connecting with people. 

I think it helps people get to know me more intimately. I wanted to remind people how poetry can be funny and unserious while simultaneously glam and gorgeous.
