If porn has taught us anything, it’s that fantasy is waaaaaaay fun to watch. Two or more  gorgeous humans writhing and enraptured in each other. Smoldering hot scenes shot  in stunning locations. We get to shut out reality for a few moments and get off to our  wildest dreams all thanks to the stars of the adult world. The fantasy goes deeper  though…. Not all our favorite stars are as they appear on screen.. some of them are  *gasp* only doing it for the coins!!

What is “Straight for Pay”?

I think we’ve probably all heard the term “Gay for Pay”. Males who will go-go in the  best boys only spaces, will bottom on film for the most demanding tops, will offer a  grade A boyfriend experience date on various apps, but, in their off time, they identify  as 100% heterosexual. So, why shouldn’t our 100% gay identifying fam be doing the  same??

There is a marked rise in “Straight for Pay” across the same spectrum. The hottest new  stars in Hetero City are our favorites from the Rainbow Village. Derek Cage, Dillion  Diaz, Jonah Wheeler and so many more are already making filthy delicious content in  the opposite sexual identity realm and finding major success. Our favorite sweetheart  by day, sadistic dom by night, Ryan Sebastian, (pictured here) is as open to cis/trans  females dominating/subbing him as he is cis/trans males. The trend is gaining  momentum in the best ways. More content for us the viewer and more opportunities  for them as the pros.

Why go “Straight for Pay”?

The pay, the exposure to a new audience, the experience… all kinds of reasons here  are valid.

Money, the root of all things, is, as expected, the top given. And, why not? Why limit  your income earning potential if you feel ok branching into new spaces? Even though  gay play arenas usually pay more, all earnings are good earnings if you have the time  and inclination. Our advice, get as many of those dollars as you can during your  prime earning years!

All Eyes on Me is never a bad thing. If one genre of fans following you is good, then  multiple is even better. Crossing back and forth increases your chances of gaining  that illusive fame and fortune linked to the adult entertainment world. Take it and run  with it.

Trying a Taste of the Strange has always been appealing to some. More than a few  stars have discovered they lean a bit more bi after a filming or go-go experience, and  some plant themselves more firmly in the “it’s just for the check/experience” camp. It’s  a perfect way to explore.

What Does the Industry Think?

Listen, it’s a business at the end of the day. If you are bringing eyes and wallets to a  site, you are going to get hired. Period. You can be of any gender identity and sexual  orientation and be a top performer across a whole spectrum of film styles IF dollars  and fans are following your every cum shot or booty pop. We are entering a very fluid  world, which we personally love, and the adult creation world loves too.

What Does the Audience Think?

Funny thing is here, most people will never know that some of their nearest and  dearest follows may not be quite the way they seem on film or in the clubs when they  are away from the office. And, isn’t that beautiful? We are actively remaking the world  into one where we are able to float from space to space with ease and acceptance.  That acceptance is another beautiful thing, fans embracing their favorites stretching  and breaking former hard boundaries.

There is Always a Controversy, Right?

There is always an opposing argument to almost everything, and “Straight for Pay”  doesn’t escape a small jaunt into criticism-landia. The argument is that it can cause  misconceptions about sexuality. Meaning gay men engaging in straight sex solely for  money can be seen as blurring the lines of genuine bisexuality or fluid sexual  orientations. Though we understand this argument, we have to keep at the forefront  that almost all adult content is fantasy based and done, as almost all jobs in this world,  for financial gain to do things like pay rent, keep the heat on, etc. We can’t imagine  any stars engaging as a way to diminish anyone else’s walk through this life, their  sexual identity, or their gender freedoms.

Final Thoughts

We don’t know where “Straight for Pay” will eventually take us as a collective. Maybe it  fizzles, maybe it becomes the norm. What we do know is that we are in the dawn of  an evolution in the adult entertainment industry. One where more freedom for our  stars means more chances for us as viewers to explore our own fantasies and  celebrate the diverse and ever expanding spectrum of human sexuality.
